Our Story
It all started in a small workshop in Los Angeles, where our founder, John Smith, had a dream of creating beautiful, comfortable shoes that everyone could enjoy. John learned the art of shoemaking from his grandfather, a Italian immigrant who brought his passion for leatherwork and footwear design to America.
After years of studying and practicing his craft, John finally decided to go out on his own and launch his own shoe company. He started out making custom shoes for private clients, but quickly realized he wanted to share his creations with the world.
So in 2005, Clohoo® Shoes was born! The name “Clohoo” is inspired by the sound leather shoes make when walking down the street. John loved the idea of people recognizing that distinct “clohoo clohoo” sound coming from a pair of stylish, handmade shoes.
We started out with just a few designs in our catalog, mostly women’s boots, heels and sandals. But over the years, we have expanded into all types of footwear for men, women and children. Today, we offer over 2,000 unique shoe styles!
